Glaze your own udu
25th November 2017
Burleigh Heads, QLD
9:00 am – 5:00 pm
What is an Udu?
The udu is a clay instrument traditionally made by women of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria. It has a soothing watery sound perfect for relaxation, contemplation and meditation.
This is an opportunity to learn the art of glazing clay to create your own unique medicine drum. Access to a vast palette of glazes and a professional illustrator on the day will help you to bring your ideas to life and allow your drum to sing its own unique song.
We have limited spaces for this special event so pre-booking is essential.
Location: Picasso’s Ceramics
41B Tallebudgera Creek Rd,
West Burleigh Heads
There are two sizes of drum to choose from:
Treble - $375
Bass - $475
Your contribution includes; one ‘bisque fired’ clay udu, a selection of glazes and prints to use (specialty glazes and prints will be extra), light snacks and final firing. Your drum will be ready for pickup from Picasso’s the following week.
